Butternut Squash Pizza

Ingredients

  • Pizza Dough
  • All-Purpose Flour
  • Butternut Squash
  • Yellow Onion(s)
  • Honey
  • Fontina Cheese
  • Sage
  • Pumpkin Seeds

1. Preheat the oven to 425°F. Slice the onions. Chop the sage.

2. In a bowl, combine the squash with half of the honey, the spices and half of the sage. Season with salt and pepper and spread on a baking sheet. Cook in the oven for 8-10 minutes.

3. In a pan over medium heat, add a drizzle of olive oil. Add the onions and the rest of the honey. Season with salt and pepper. Cover and cook 8-10 minutes. Toward the end of the cooking, add the rest of the sage.

4. On a floured work surface, roll the pizza dough to make a large pizza or smaller individual pizzas. Kids can make their own pizza, it might be imperfect, but it will also be delicious.

5. Spread the pizza dough on a baking sheet. Garnish with the caramelized onions, the cheese and the squash. Bake for 12-15 minutes.

6. Serve the pizza. Garnish with the pumpkin seeds. Bon appétit!
