Crispy Shrimp Bao Buns
with sweet and spicy sauce
Ingredients
- Bao Buns
- Wild Argentina Shrimps
- Cornstarch
- Sauce Mix (Mayonnaise,Sriracha,,)
- Honey
- Green Onion(s)
- Grilled Sesame Seeds
Necessary elements
Pan, pot, steamer, bowls, parchment paper, paper towels.
1. Cut the green onions into long sections, then slice lengthwise very thinly. Place in a bowl of cold water to make green onion curls. On a separate cutting board, take the tail off the shrimps and cut them into 2 or 3 pieces.
2. In a bowl, mix the pieces of shrimp with the cornstarch, season with salt and pepper.
3. In a deep pan, add a generous drizzle of vegetable oil. Once the oil is hot, cook the shrimps, only a few at a time, 2-3 minutes. Remove and place on paper towels.
4. In a steamer, cook the bao buns for 3-4 minutes or until warm and soft. If you don’t have a steamer, put them in a strainer over a pot of boiling water and cover. The buns should not touch the water. Put parchment paper so that the buns don’t stick.
5. In a bowl, combine the spicy mayonnaise with the honey.
6. Serve the crispy shrimp in the steamed buns. Garnish with the sauce, the green onions and the sesame seeds. Bon appétit!
