10 years. It’s hard to believe how fast it’s flown by. Every recipe tested, every meal packed, every delivery made has been part of a bigger story: one rooted in community, care, and a shared belief that good food can do good too.
Where it all started
Fresh Prep began in a home kitchen in Vancouver with a simple idea shared by a few close friends: make mealtime easier, more sustainable, and more meaningful for busy people.
What started as a handful of home deliveries and a lot of hustle has grown into something bigger than any of us imagined.
A Look Back: 10 Years of Building Something Better
Over the past decade, Fresh Prep has grown from a grassroots dream into a leading Canadian meal kit company, grounded in sustainability every step of the way.
Here are a few milestones that make us proud:
Zero Waste Kits: A first-of-its-kind solution in Canada, designed to reduce single-use plastics and simplify cooking introduced in 2021. Every year , we’ve expanded the number of meals available in our reusable meal kit containers.
B Corp Certification: We’ve always put people and the planet first—now it’s certified since 2019. That means more care in how we source, prep, and deliver your meals. Good food, made the right way.
Expanded to Alberta, Ontario and Quebec: We’re proud to serve even more Canadians with meals that are fresh, sustainable, and thoughtfully prepared.
Peko Acquisition: By joining forces with Peko, we’re rescuing imperfect produce that would’ve gone to waste—and delivering fresh produce to your door. It’s good for the planet and great for your plate.
Launch of prepared meals in 2022 : For the ultra-busy and always on the go, our fresh, chef-prepared meals mean a great tasting, healthy meal in just 2 minutes.
Recipe variety: Over the years, we’ve expanded our menu to over 800 recipes to offer even more variety for every taste, lifestyle, and dietary need. With most meals ready in 15-30 minutes, it’s never been easier to enjoy a fresh, home-cooked dinner without the planning, prepping, or stress.

Carbon Offset Deliveries: Thanks to our growing electric delivery fleet and our partnership with Onfleet, we’re able to offset the carbon emissions from each delivery we make. It’s just one more way we’re making mealtime more sustainable, from our kitchen to your doorstep.
