Fresh Prep’s powerful partnership with Food Stash Foundation
Fresh Prep has teamed up with Food Stash Foundation to become their exclusive delivery partner for their Rescued Food Box Program.
In Canada, a staggering 58% of the food we produce goes to waste, resulting in the equivalent of 56.5 million metric tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. Shockingly, even with such waste, the reality is that 1 in 6 children in BC face food insecurity, a lack of consistent access to nutritious and sufficient food for an active and healthy life.
The Rescued Food Box Program is proving to be a promising solution to combat food waste and address food insecurity. Food Stash Foundation works hand in hand with local grocery stores, farmers, and food producers to collect surplus perishable items and create weekly Rescued Food Boxes. These boxes are then delivered directly to the doorsteps of community members facing food insecurity, ensuring that no nutritious food goes to waste.
Making an Impact.
As the sole delivery partner, our role is crucial in maximizing the impact of the Rescued Food Box Program. Leveraging our efficient delivery infrastructure, we ensure that the Rescued Food Boxes reach those in need in a timely manner.
With Fresh Prep’s own fleet of delivery vans and drivers, the Rescued Food Box Program gains access to reliable and efficient distribution in and around the Vancouver area. This means more food can be delivered promptly to the intended recipients, reducing food waste and ensuring that rescued food reaches those in need while it’s still fresh and consumable.
